Exploring the ClassIT+ NMFC Book

The NMFC Book page allows you to browse, download, and bookmark essential Classification resources and tools, including supplements, rules, indexes, articles, best practices, and forms in one convenient place.

The NMFC Book page is organized by the following sections:

• Bookmarked: This section displays the Classification resources (i.e. PDFs) that you have bookmarked.
• Available Resources: This section displays key Classification resources found in the NMFC Book as cards, providing you with easy access to the information you need. Cards include:
  • • Public Docket: Redirects you to the Public Docket Files page so you can review the proposed changes from the latest Docket. See Accessing the Public Docket and Public Disposition Bulletin for more information.
    • Public Disposition Bulletin: Redirects you to the Public Docket Files page so you can review the outcome of the proposals and approved changes listed in the Disposition of Subjects as well as the Disposition Bulletin spreadsheet. Note that this version of the Disposition Bulletin spreadsheet is limited to public content only and does not contain the full details. See Accessing the Public Docket and Public Disposition Bulletin for more information.
    • Disposition Bulletin (Subscription Access Only): Opens the expanded version of the Disposition Bulletin spreadsheet, giving you complete access to all the details regarding the approved changes. Note that this version is for subscribers only and cannot be accessed publicly. See Accessing the NMFC Book Disposition Bulletin (Subscription Access Only) for more information. 
    • Supplements: Opens the Supplements page so you can consult the latest Supplement from the last five years or request access to archived Supplements for historical analysis or reference. See Accessing NMFC Book Supplements for more information. 
    • Indexes: Opens the Indexes page so you can easily view and download a PDF of the Index to Generic Headings, Index to Rules and Procedures, and Index to Articles. See Accessing NMFC Book Indexes for more information. 
    •  Rules and Specifications for Numbered Packages: Opens the Rules and Specifications for Numbered Packages page so you can easily view and download a PDF of the Specifications for Numbered Packages and the Rules or Definitions and Explanations of Terms, Punctions, and References.     • Carrier Procedures and Best Practices: Opens the Carrier Procedures and Best Practices page where you can view and download a PDF of examples of key forms along with other documents offering guidance, such as Bill of Lading forms, bill dispute guidance, etc. See Accessing the NMFC Book Carrier Procedures and Best Practices for more information.
