What address should I use for the ID verification process?
During the ID verification process, you are prompted to supply two (2) addresses:
- Your personal address (i.e., the address on your Government ID)
- Your company's address
|
Both addresses are used to confirm your identity and the identity of the company affiliated with the SCAC. The company address associated with a SCAC must be a physical address. PO Box addresses are not accepted. If your SCAC is affiliated with a PO Box, please contact NMFTA Customer Service. On the SCAC application or renewal/reinstatment page, use your company's address. Your personal address is only used during the ID verification step. |
I am Canadian and my company has an American address, which address should I use for the ID verification process?
If you have a non-US Government ID but your company's address is in the United States, then the following is required during the ID verification process:
- Your personal address and Governtment ID (non-US country)
- Your company's physical address in the United States
For example, use your Canadian address and Governtment ID when supplying your personal address and a valid ID. For your company, enter the physical address in the United States.
Is the address on my SCAC application the same as the address I provide during the ID verification process?
Technically, yes, but only for the company.
On the SCAC application, enter your company's physical address.
