Standard Carrier Alpha Code™ (SCAC®) |
Once a SCAC is assigned, it is valid for one year from the activation date unless otherwise specified. All renewals are valid for one year from the current expiration date.
Please note the following:
- We do not support multi-year renewals.
- Renewal Notices are sent 90-. 60-, and 30- days prior to a SCAC expiration and reflect the next year’s renewal price not the current year’s price.
- If payments are not received by the expiration date, then the SCAC is immediately cancelled and marked as expired.
- Once a SCAC has expired, the customer will automatically receive an email notification that the SCAC has expired.
- Once a SCAC is cancelled or expired and it is after Dec 31 of that year, it can only be reinstated by customer service. See Reinstating an Expired SCAC Using Easy Renew for more information on reinstating expired codes.
- See Understanding the SCAC Lifecycle for more information about how SCACs are assigned and renewed.
The process for renewing a SCAC varies by role.
- For customers with or without a valid user account, see Renewing a SCAC With or Without a Login.
- For customers or carriers, see Renewing a SCAC from the Account Profile Screen.
- For resellers, our partners, customer service managers, or internal and external customer service representatives, see Renewing a SCAC Using the Manage Accounts Screen.
SCAC Renewal Discount (January 1, 2025 - May 31, 2025): Users with SCACs that expire between June 30, 2025, and July 7, 2025, can now receive a renewal discount when they agree to change their expiration date to the day of renewal, helping spread out the renewal season and lessen the burden on customer service.
