You can quickly and easily reinstate an expired SCAC through the Easy Renew feature with or without logging in.
Please note the following:
Reinstatements are valid for one (1) year from the reinstatement date.
A SCAC’s reinstatement period lasts for 3 years. After 3 years, the SCAC is returned to the available SCACs list and can be assigned to anyone.
When a SCAC has been owned by multiple companies, only the latest company can reinstate. This means that:
Previous owners cannot reinstate.
Previous owners can request the SCAC through the SCAC apply process if it is available.
If the SCAC has been expired for more than 3 years, then it's available for reassignment to anyone. This means that if it's reassigned, it can't be reinstated.
If the SCAC is expired for less than 3 years, only the last company to own it can reinstate it.
The maximum charge for reinstatement is based on the 3-year rule. Reinstatement charges beyond the 3-year rule no longer apply since this is no longer applicable. As previously stated, previous owners can request the SCAC through the SCAC apply process if it is available and pay the new SCAC assignment price.
